Joining a Work Already Started!
God's clear calling to a strategic, ongoing gospel-work in Spain
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
One of the most affirming ways God has made His calling clear to us is through the powerful, ongoing work already happening in Spain. It's undeniable—God is moving in this nation, a land full of sheep searching for a Shepherd. We are in awe of how He has already been working to prepare the harvest, and now we have the joy and privilege of stepping in to be part of what He has begun.
We’re especially thrilled to be partnering with Scot and Carol Musser, faithful missionaries – and dear friends! - on the field who have spent the last 27 years in full-time ministry in Spain. For many years, they served at Evangelical Christian Academy, an English-speaking school for missionary children. However, God gave them a deep burden for Spanish families who had no real access to Christ-centered education. That burden led them to launch LIFE International School in 2017 in Tres Cantos, a suburb just north of Madrid.
Because LIFE is a private international school, it is free to build its own curriculum and educational programming, and that freedom has become a powerful tool for the Gospel! The school has been intentionally designed to integrate a Biblical worldview into every subject, and the result has been nothing short of miraculous. Students have come to know Christ through classroom discipleship, and parents—through helping with homework and engaging in school life—have encountered Gospel truths that have led some to faith in Christ. Praise God for the harvest!
We are excited for the opportunity that Jesse will have to begin working at LIFE International School once we arrive in Spain. The exact role or capacity that he will serve in is still unknown, but will likely be in some kind of administrative or discipleship capacity. This opportunity will not only allow Jesse to engage with professional Spanish culture and continue to grow in language proficiency, but also give him a front-row seat to the kind of relational ministry we are passionate about. More details on our long-term vision are coming soon!
We’re also planning for Noah and Eliza to attend LIFE when we arrive. Noah will start 1st grade in the fall of 2026, and Eliza will begin kindergarten. It’s important to us that our children are in an environment where Gospel conversations are not just permitted, but are fostered and established as the heartbeat of the community. We are grateful for the opportunity for our kids to transfer from one discipleship-oriented school (Northside Christian School in Columbus, OH) to another!
What excites us most about LIFE International is the way the school intentionally seeks to bridge the gap between the classroom and the church. Their model of engaging both Christian and non-Christian parents through everyday learning is a beautiful example of evangelism through education, with an intent and desire to get families plugged into Gospel-centered local church communities. In this way, LIFE is ultimately working to train up the next generation of Christian leaders – and faithful church supporters - in Spain.
Our goal is to move to Tres Cantos in July 2026, find an apartment in the community, and begin plugging into a local church right away. With our Spanish language ability, we’re also excited to seek to build and foster genuine relationships and serve within the community from the beginning.
We have an ambitious timeline ahead—just about one year to raise the funds needed to support this work. Our monthly need is more than $9,100, and our first goal is to have monthly commitments of at least $2,300/month by August 31st, 2025! We know that this is ambitious, but we fully believe that God can do this through His people, if He wills! Trusting Him as we seek to purposefully pursue potential ministry partners!
Would you prayerfully consider joining our support team? Whether through prayer, regular or one-time giving, or sharing our story, your support is critical—and we truly can’t imagine walking this road without you.
Grace to you!
